 Re: Magazine options?
From what I've read, Black Dog actually manufactures the factory magazine that comes with the rifle. I don't know if this is true or not, but they do look the same. (?)
I have two of the CMMG 26 rounders, the 25 round factory magazine and the Black Dog 50 round drum.
The CMMGs are far easier to load than the factory magazine and work very well. These surprized me because their fit is much looser in the magazine well than all of the other mags - they'll actually drop right out of the rifle when the magazine release is depressed. I was expecting tons of malfunctions with them and it simply did not happen. I'm 100% sold on these.
The Black Dog 50 round drum is reliable and has never missed a tick when I've used it. However, it is tedious and tricky to load. Glad that I have it, but almost wish that I had spent the money on four more of the CMMGs instead.
I've not used the .22 Promags. Have had bad experiences in the past with their products, so I shy away from them.
Hope this helps.

 Re: Magazine options?
So, the CMMG's are looser than the Factory and Black Dog's? I just picked up a Sig 522 Saturday at a local gun show. The first thing I noticed was how loose the mag was. It does drop free, though. Overall, the CMMG's look and feel more durable. I handled some at the show, but didn't purchase any. They were asking $30 ea., and I've seen the Black Dog's for $20 online. Found a couple places advertising the CMMG's for just over $15, however I'm a little leary of purchasing from them. What do you think? http://www.mahsupplies.net/viewitem.php?ref=hotpig27&pd=303738http://www.bigplanetgear.com/catalog/product.asp?pid=69142&ret_id=1089039

 Re: Magazine options?
Well, I ordered (8) of the CMMG mags from BigPlantegear.com for$15 ea, $134 shipped. Will let you know this turns out, since I have never heard of this company. I'm guessing they are one of those online drop ship companies, with no stock, just a web site. With all the CMMG mags, I'll have to purchase a .22 upper for my M4.

 Re: Magazine options?
Yep, those are the ones. I think you're going to like how they work in your 522. $15.00 a rattle is a good price too.

 Re: Magazine options?
So far, the CMMG and Black Dog mags are working equally well. I have been using one of each, so they are getting equal wear. We'll see which fails first. I tend to like the CMMG mag better. Also, picked up a Christy loader. It works well, I just dont think that little plastic pin is going to last. Once again, time will tell.
