Nuts in screw upgrade, a waste?
I was a little skeptical regarding the nuts on the screw upgrade, when I installed them. Now, I'm convinced, they are about worthless. It is extremely difficult to index the nuts so the threads engage as soon as the screw protrudes through the frame. Inevitably, the screw pushes the nut slightly, until the threads index properly and engage. This is just enough to preclude the nut from locking against the frame. If you take a small pick, I'm willing to bet all of the nuts will wiggle. You could spend allot of time by trial and error and MAYBE get the nut to lock. I plan on disassembling the bolt and carrier every time for cleaning, so, thread lock is out of the question. I don’t think the nut will hurt anything, however, I don't believe they help either. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the screw upgrade, just not the nuts.
What do you think?

They probably don't do anything initially but its still good to have them in case the threads become worn or stripped out.

Only use them if your threads are stripped out.

I agree, stripped threads would require the nuts.

Throw them in the trash. Tap the holes for 6/32. No need to drill first. Positive engagement and never come loose

Re: Nuts in screw upgrade, a waste?
I agree a total waste of time buying a complete new screw set! Get your own nuts and just locktight them in JOB DONE . I personally found that the main problem with this gun is the extractor is poorly machined where it fits in the bolt and the extractor claw does not grip the cartridge lip enough hense non extractions and stove piping. I just filed my extractor lug down so that the claw really grips the cartridge lip and it performs like new . I kicks the spent round out about 4ft !!
Most of the posts I've seen on various forums aren't addressing the real problem with these great little guns .As long as you use a good high velocity ammo its great. Mine now will spit out any brand of ammo .
Hope this helps someone with jamming / feeding problems as it can be frustrating .
Regards
